A wonderful way to start the year with a tour of some of the finest snowdrop collections in the country. Visit Batsford, Welford and Painswick Rococo Gardens, which is famed for having one of the largest natural plantings of snowdrops in the country. We also visit the STEAM Museum and some beautiful villages of the Cotswolds.
Day 1 We make our way to Welford Park in Berkshire, where a magnificent snowdrop display awaits us. Light snacks and refreshments are available in the Tea Tent, before we continue to our hotel, where we are welcomed with tea and coffee.
Day 2 Today we travel to the ‘Capital of the Cotswolds’, Cirencester where we will have free time for lunch and shopping. We then make our way to Painswick Rococo Gardens, set in a hidden Cotswold valley with magnificent views of the surrounding countryside, and its famous displays of spectacular snowdrops.
Day 3 After breakfast we make our way via Chipping Norton to Batsford Arboretum, home to one of the finest botanical collections in the country. Batsford is also home to a beautiful visitor centre, gift shop and café. We return to our hotel via some pretty Cotswold villages.
Day 4 Departing our hotel, we travel the short distance into Swindon and STEAM, the Museum of the Great Western Railway. The museum is housed in a beautifully restored Grade II listed railway building in the heart of the former Swindon railway works, located right next to Swindon's Designer Outlet. We have an included light lunch before travelling back to the local area, meeting our taxis late afternoon.
