Following the success of our Singles to Ireland Tour in 2010, we are happy to offer another itinerary with our single travellers in mind. Based on the waterfront at Waterford, this tour visits the historic and natural highlights of the area including Kilkenny, Cork and Blarney.

ITINERARY

Day 1 After being picked up from your door by taxi, we travel by coach to South Wales and our overnight hotel in Swansea.

Day 2 After breakfast we travel to Fishguard where we take the early afternoon ferry arriving in Rosslare at around 6pm. From here it is a short distance to our hotel in Waterford where we will have a welcome drink before dinner.

Day 3 A full day out today beginning in New Ross at The Dunbrody Ship, a full scale working replica of a famine ship with actors and interactive displays giving a unique insight into the life of emigrants as they risked all to reach the new world. We then visit Kilkenny and its imposing castle overlooking the River Nore, followed by free time to explore the city and maybe try Smithwicks, the local brew.

Day 4 We travel to the popular seaside resort of Tramore and then further west to the historic town of Lismore, where you could visit the Heritage Centre with its audio-visual presentation of the history of the area or visit Lismore Castle Gardens, just a short walk from the town and known for the displays of camellia and magnolia (depending on the weather). We return to Waterford mid afternoon.

Day 5 Travelling via Youghal we arrive in Cork, Ireland’s second largest city for free time to explore and get lunch. We then travel to Blarney to visit the castle, possibly kiss the stone or have a look round the Blarney Woollen Mills.

Day 6 A free day to enjoy Waterford. We are in perfect position to visit the new Waterford Crystal Centre, the Museum of Treasures or take a walking tour.

Day 7 We have an early breakfast before boarding our ferry at Rosslare for the 3 ˝ hour crossing to Fishguard. We travel across Southern Wales and into England making suitable refreshment stops along the way. We return to the local area in the evening, meet our taxis and are taken home.
