NEW TOUR

Shropshire is a beautiful county with verdant rolling hills, quaint towns and villages, and a wealth of historic sites. Our luxury hotel overlooks Ironbridge Gorge and we have included visits to Blist’s Hill, Shrewsbury, Ludlow and a day in the Potteries with Trentham Gardens and the excellent Wedgewood Visitor Centre.

ITINERARY

Day 1 After a taxi pick up from your home, we make our way via Evesham Country Park to the outskirts of Telford and our hotel. A welcome drink will be served before dinner for a chance to meet your fellow guests.

Day 2 This morning we visit Trentham Estate where you can enjoy 12 show gardens, woodland walks, tree trails and bird hides. The highlight is the magnificent Italian Gardens, one of the most impressive garden projects in Europe. After time in the gardens, tearooms and shops, we travel the short distance to the Wedgewood Visitor Centre, where a short introductory film is followed by demonstrations of ceramic manufacture by skilled craftspeople.

Day 3 A half day visit to Shrewsbury, set in the heart of the county inside a loop of the River Seven and boasting over 600 listed buildings along picturesque cobbled alleys and squares. You should also visit Quarry Park, Shrewsbury’s famous parkland which includes The Dingle – a garden created by Percy Thrower. In the afternoon we travel south through wonderful Shropshire countryside, through Church Stretton and spend some time in Ludlow.

Day 4 Today we visit Blists Hill, a working Victorian town and award winning open air museum. There are a host of period shops to visit, costumed guides to show you around, Victorian fairground rides, steam engines and, of course, cafés. The afternoon is free to enjoy the facilities of our hotel.

Day 5 Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we travel via Bourton-on-the-Water to the local area where we meet our taxis.
