Oostende is a medieval harbour town with a fascinating history, fused with a modern seaside resort rich in its colourful lifestyle.

ITINERARY

Day 1 After the usual taxi pick ups this morning your coach drives to DOVER for an afternoon crossing to CALAIS. From here we make our way to OOSTENDE where we check in to the hotel with time to relax before this evening’s welcome drink to meet your fellow travelling companions.

Day 2 After a leisurely breakfast our driver will take us through the Belgiun countryside to visit the CASTLE OF BELOEIL standing behind its moats and gardens in HAINAUT as it has done for the last eight centuries. This vast stately home of the PRINCES DE LIGNE began life as a medieval fortress; over the course of centuries it has been transformed into a country home.

Day 3 A full day excursion to the ‘ Venice of the North’ BRUGES. Explore the beautiful canals by boat or amble past the historic sites in a horse drawn carriage, with many shops, museums and art galleries you will be spoilt for choice.

Day 4 Today we visit YPRES where we meet our guide who will tell us some of the interesting facts of the history of this small Flemish Town. We will continue through the countryside stopping for a short visit in DUNKERQUE before returning to our hotel.

Day 5 A day at leisure in OOSTENDE. Enjoy the sights of the boats and yachts in the harbour. Walk around the old town with its variety of shops or may be have a flutter in the casino.

Day 6 Departing the hotel after breakfast we drive to CALAIS where we will stop in CITE EUROPE for some last minute shopping opportunities. Departing CALAIS on an early afternoon ferry to DOVER we will arrive back in to the local area late afternoon.
