One of Britain’s favourite holiday destinations since Victorian times, the Isle of Wight has miles of sandy beaches, picturesque scenery and pretty villages. We visit Queen Victoria’s favourite home, Osborne House, take a ride on the island’s own steam railway, and explore the lush and peaceful countryside. Our hotel provides four evenings of entertainment.

ITINERARY

Day 1 Having met all of our taxis, our coach travels through the New Forest down to Lymington for the sailing to Yarmouth. Once on the island we have a scenic drive across to Sandown and our hotel.

Day 2 A leisurely start today before we take a tour around the western side of the Island, taking in the picture postcard village of Godshill and The Needles. On our return we travel along the Military Road, stopping at Isle of Wight Pearl before heading back to Sandown and our hotel.

Day 3 A free day for you to enjoy Sandown, or take the open-top bus or mini-train which stop just outside our hotel.

Day 4 Today we travel back in time. From Havenstreet Station we take a scenic ride on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. The locomotives and carriages have been lovingly restored to pristine condition and the station houses a shop, café and museum. On our return you can choose to stop in Ventnor, where you can visit the beautiful Botanic Gardens or Shanklin, for a stroll through the quaint cottages. Our driver will return to transfer everyone back to our hotel late afternoon.

Day 5 A morning visit to Osborne House and Gardens. Queen Victoria spent a great deal of time at this wonderful home, and since her death little has been changed there, with many of the royal couple’s possessions, photographs and paintings still in place. We return to the hotel mid afternoon.

Day 6 Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we make our way to ‘Waltzing Waters’, a spectacular show which incorporates light, music and fountains. We travel on to Fishbourne for our afternoon ferry to Portsmouth, and returning to our homes.
