ITINERARY
Day 1 Leaving the local area early in the morning, we travel to Gloucester for free time for lunch. We arrive in Llandrindod Wells late afternoon, for our four-night stay.
Day 2 We travel along the beautiful Elan Valley with a stop at the Dams Visitor Centre, before visiting Aberystwyth. We then board the Vale of Rheidol Railway for a spectacular journey by narrow gauge steam train, affording superb views of the Rheidol Valley.
Day 3 We begin our day with a drive toward the Black Mountains and Hay on Wye. We then visit historic Brecon, before crossing the Brecon Beacons to join the Brecon Mountain Railway for a nostalgic steam ride before returning to our hotel.
Day 4 Today is free in Llandrindod Wells.
Day 5 We leave The Metropole today and travel north up into the Snowdonia National Park and along to Lake Bala, where we board one of the Great Little Trains of Wales - the Bala Lake Railway. We continue by coach to Blaenau Ffestiniog and Ruthin, before heading to Abergele for a three-night stay.
Day 6 Today we visit one of the finest gardens in Wales at Bodnant. From here we travel to Betws y Coed, then through Snowdonia to Penrhyn Castle. This neo-Norman castle sits in 60 acres of gardens, and is filled with fascinating items.
Day 7 A day on the Isle of Anglesey includes Beaumaris and of course we also visit the James Pringle Weavers Complex at Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch!
