ITINERARY

Day 1 Door to door service to Heathrow for the flight to Istanbul. On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel for 2 nights on full board basis.

Day 2 Today we tour some of the main sights of Istanbul, the legendary Blue Mosque, The Hippodrome and the museum Saint Sophia. After lunch visit the Topkapi Palace, with some free time in the world famous Grand Bazaar.

Day 3 An extended tour of this fascinating City, including the Egyptian Bazaar and a Bosphorus cruise visiting both Europe and Asia. The cruise ends in the fishing village of Sariyer, for lunch. We continue by coach to Camlica Hill with panoramic views, before our short flight to Izmir and Hotel Anemon.

Day 4 A morning visit to the oldest Church in Izmir, St Polycarp, one of the 7 Churches of the Revelation. Later we travel to Pergamon to view the second of the Churches and also the Acropolis, Zeus Altar and the Agora (ancient marketplace). Overnight in Pergamon.

Day 5 First stopping at Selcuk to view the Temple of Artemis, we reach Ephesus to visit the third Church, the house of the Virgin Mary and the Basillica of St John. Overnight in Kusadasi.

Day 6 We drive to Pamukkale and after lunch explore the ancient city of Heiropolis, view the necropolis and terraces, white with calcium deposits that built up over the years. Overnight in Pamukkale.

Day 7 A long day, visiting the remaining four Churches of the Apocalypse. First we visit Laodicea, one of the earliest Christian settlements, then onto Philadelphia with its ancient Roman settlements and Sardis. After lunch we travel to Thyatira to see the last of the seven Churches, and to our hotel in Izmir.

Day 8 Morning transfer to Izmir airport for the return flight to Gatwick. You will be met by a Woods coach and returned to your home by taxi.
