Chatsworth House, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, is a treasure trove of historical wonders, and at this time of the year all dressed up for the Christmas season. Some areas of the house are decorated with foliage, lights and candles, as well as scenes to evoke the spirit of Christmas. You have the chance to tour these areas, have some lunch in the café and to visit the shop, well stocked with seasonal gifts. Our November tour is timed to coincide with the Chatsworth Market – an outdoor festive fair with seasonal gifts and tasty snacks. Our December tour at Shrigley Hall has a large number of sole use rooms with no supplement. Whichever tour you choose, you are sure to have a wonderfully festive time!

ITINERARY

Day 1 After a morning taxi pick up we make our way north to the Peak District, with suitable refreshment stops along the way.

Day 2 Today we explore the beautiful scenery and towns of the Peak District, including Bakewell, Castleton and stunning views of the Ladybower Reservoir.

Day 3 This morning we visit Chatsworth House and Christmas Market. The afternoon is free to explore Buxton with its wealth of pleasant shops and the beautiful Pavilion Gardens.

Day 4 Departing our hotel after breakfast, we make our way home via Tewkesbury, arriving back in the local area early evening to meet our taxis.
