NEW TOUR
The Hampshire Court Hotel had wonderful reviews from those who stayed at Christmas and so we have put together this lovely Easter break exploring the heart of the Hampshire countryside. As well as enjoying the leisure facilities at our hotel, we visit Winchester, the superb Milestones Museum, Exbury Gardens and take a trip along the Kennet and Avon Canal.
ITINERARY
Day 1 After a taxi pick up from your home, we make our way to Winchester where there will be time to get some lunch, do some shopping or visit the cathedral, before continuing to our hotel. There will be a welcome drink before dinner for a chance to meet your fellow guests.
Day 2 Today we travel down into the New Forest where we might glimpse some of the 3000 famous ponies which graze freely. We then visit Exbury Gardens, a spectacular 200 acre site, world-famous for the Rothschild Collection of rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias and rare trees and shrubs. We have an included 20-minute ride on the Exbury Steam Railway.
Day 3 We make our way across country to Hungerford Wharf to board the ‘Rose Of Hungerford’ for a 2½ hour cruise on the Kennet and Avon Canal, renowned as one of the most beautiful waterways in southern England. Our 55-foot motor vessel was built along the lines of a traditional canal barge, is beautifully decorated with roses and castles, and has a bar for drinks and snacks.
Day 4 A half day excursion today to Milestones Living Museum, where a maze of full sized streets dating from Victorian times to 1945 have been recreated. As well as viewing the many exhibits, you can enjoy a drink in The Baverstock, an Edwardian Pub or have tea in the Milestones Café. The afternoon is free to enjoy the leisure facilities of the hotel.
Day 5 Departing after a leisurely breakfast we travel to Denbies Wine Estate before continuing home, reaching the local area in the afternoon.
