Our hotel dates back to the 1700s and is situated on the pretty village green nestled in the centre of Drymen, not far from Loch Lomond. Over the years it has been lovingly restored and tastefully extended, and now offers 72 bedrooms, cosy lounges, open log fires and a bar lounge. All rooms have TV, radio, telephone, hairdryer and hospitality tray. Whilst staying in this hotel the service will include daily packed lunches, wine with meals, evening entertainment and a free bar* in the evening. The hotel does not have a lift, but some ground floor rooms are available.

We return to the wonderful Winnock Hotel for a Scottish Houseparty with evening entertainment, hot toddies and a free bar* in the centre of pretty Drymen. We visit Edinburgh for a view of city life and journey deep into the wild and beautiful national parks including the Trossachs and Glencoe, with a boat trip on Loch Katrine.

ITINERARY

Day 1 Leaving the local area we travel via the Cotswolds to join the M5 near Worcester and head on to our overnight hotel in Lancashire.

Day 2 Travelling north we have a scenic drive through the Lake District stopping in Ullswater for refreshments. On through the border at Gretna Green stopping at Moffat for lunch, after which we go directly to our hotel at Drymen, where we have a welcome drink before dinner. This evening we enjoy a traditional Ceilidh, with Scottish dancing and a real party atmosphere!

Day 3 We travel today across country through the Forest of Glenartney to Comrie. Continuing along the shores to Loch Earn we arrive at Callander where a stop will be made. We enter the Trossachs and make our way to the pier on Loch Katrine where we board our boat for a short cruise. We then take you to Aberfoyle before returning to the hotel, to enjoy dinner and our evening entertainment.

Day 4 Today we drive along the banks of Loch Lomond, the largest lake in mainland Britain and one of the best known. We travel along Glen Falloch, Glen Lochy and along the northern shore of Loch Awe. We have a stop in Oban, a peaceful waterfront town on a delightful bay with sweeping views of Kerrara and Mull. We then make our way to Inveraray on the shores of Loch Fyne, where we can see the neat whitewashed buildings, famous old jail and impressive castle.

Day 5 We visit Edinburgh travelling via Stirling and Kincardine and over the famous Firth of Forth Road Bridge. There will be a driven guided tour of the city followed by free time to explore. You may like to visit the castle, or stroll along the Royal Mile. We return to our hotel for the evening meal and tonight we have a Scottish Show, with pipers, Highland dancing and traditional songs.

Day 6 Today is spent at leisure to do as we wish. You have unlimited tea and coffee at our hotel and we have entertainment after dinner.

Day 7 We travel southward to our overnight hotel in the County Durham area, arriving in time for dinner. Suitable stops will be made on the way.

Day 8 After breakfast, we head southwards to our local area, where our ever faithful taxis will be waiting to return you to your homes.
