Ramada Tunbridge WellsStars

This four-star Ramada hotel is situated in its own quiet grounds in Pembury close to Tunbridge Wells and in the heart of the Kentish Weald. As well as a cosy lounge, bar and comfortable restaurant, there is an indoor swimming pool, sauna, Jacuzzi, steam room and beauty studio. All rooms have TV , telephone, hairdryer, ironing facilities and hospitality tray. There is no lift, but many ground floor rooms, some with a few steps to access.

ITINERARY

Day 1 After a taxi collects you from your door, we travel to Tunbridge Wells and stop at the Pantiles. Walk among many of the original 17th Century buildings and colonnades, where speciality shops and restaurants await. We arrive at our hotel late afternoon.

Day 2 Today we take a scenic drive to the cathedral city of Canterbury, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the banks of the River Stour. We have free time for sightseeing and lunch before making our way to Biddenden Vineyards and Cider Works where we have organised a tour, a tasting and a glass of wine.

Day 3 Travelling by coach to Tenterden we board the morning train on the Kent and East Sussex Railway for a round trip to Bodiam, with refreshments on board included. This line was originally opened in 1900 and is a fine example of rural railways with tightly curved line and steep gradients. Back in Tenterden there is time for lunch before we go the short distance to Rye for some free time before returning to our hotel.

Day 4 Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we travel to Sheffield Park and board the Bluebell Railway for a round trip to Kingscote. On our return there will be free time to explore the engine sheds and get some lunch in the café before we make our way back to the local area, our taxis, and home.
