ITINERARY
Day 1 After your taxi pick up, we make our way to Barnstaple, making suitable refreshment stops along the way. We arrive at our hotel late afternoon.
Day 2 After a leisurely breakfast we have the chance to explore Tiverton and have lunch before this afternoon’s delightful horse drawn canal cruise. We glide gently along the Grand Western Canal to East Manley where the boat moors. There is a chance to stretch our legs before the return trip. We have included a cream tea on board to add to your enjoyment of a peaceful and tranquil afternoon.
Day 3 A free morning to enjoy Market Day. Barnstaple’s Pannier Market dates back to the Saxon times and still maintains that bustling atmosphere and has everything from local crafts to collectables and general goods. This afternoon we visit Arlington Court, a regency house set in an extensive estate, and home to the largest collection of horse-drawn vehicles.
Day 4 A scenic drive today. First we stop in the picturesque resort of Lynmouth, before making our way through scenic ‘Little Switzerland’, as the region is known, to the lovely village of Dunster, with its famous castle and octagonal Yarn Market. Our return journey takes us through Exford and the Exmoor National Park.
Day 5 This morning we visit the ancient seaport of Bideford, set on the banks of the River Torridge. In the afternoon we have the short drive to the RHS Garden Rosemoor before returning to our hotel for our last night.
Day 6 We depart after breakfast and travel to the Clarks Village complex in Street, with over 90 different stores. Continuing our journey we take a cross country route via Blandford Forum and along the south coast back to your homes.
