ITINERARY
Day 1 After collection from your home by taxi, our coach travels across country to Tewkesbury, renowned as having one of the best medieval black and white townscapes in the country. From here we travel the short distance to our hotel in Great Malvern.
Day 2 Our trip into the Malvern Hills begins in Ledbury, with free time to explore this beautiful market town. We then visit Weston’s Cider for a tour and tasting, before arriving at Eastnor Castle. This fairytale castle and family home has Gothic and Italianate interiors with medieval armour, fine art and tapestries. The 5000 acre estate boasts a maze and lakeside and woodland walks.
Day 3 This morning is free to relax and explore Great Malvern. In the afternoon we visit Upton on Severn and Worcester for free time and a river cruise along the Severn. Back on land, we visit a quayside café to enjoy an afternoon tea with sandwiches, scones and cakes.
Day 4 Today we journey into the Wye Valley and the Welsh Borders. We travel via Leominster to the wonderful little town of Hay-on-Wye. Here we have some free time to browse the many bookshops that line the streets before we cross into Wales and to the Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells. Our journey back to Malvern follows some of the course of the River Wye.
Day 5 Departing after breakfast we travel south through the Wye Valley to Chepstow, an attractive town dominated by the castle set high upon cliffs above the River Wye, where it guards the main river crossing between Southern England and Wales. In the afternoon, we make our way back to the local area with suitable refreshment stops along the way.
