NEW TOUR
We have developed a new itinerary for 2012 in response to many requests from our frequent travellers. As well as having free time in Killarney, guided tours of both the Beara Peninsula and the Ring of Kerry, we have included a boat trip onto Bantry Bay and a visit to Cobh, 100 years after the fateful voyage of the Titanic.
ITINERARY
Day 1 We travel across into Wales with a short visit to Llangollen before arriving at our overnight hotel in North Wales.
Day 2 After breakfast we travel to Holyhead for the early morning crossing to Dun Laoghaire. From here we continue to Killarney via Portlaoise and Limerick to our hotel.
Day 3 A local guide joins us today to cross the beautiful Beara Peninsula, with magnificent views of the Caha Mountains from the viewpoints along the road as we travel through the dramatic landscape. We have included a boat trip into Bantry Bay, where you are likely to see the playful seals basking on Seal Island, to the island garden of Garinish, full of rare and beautiful plantlife.
Day 4 We have a guided tour of the spectacular Ring of Kerry with its breathtaking scenery of glorious beaches, towering cliffs, wild moorlands and dramatic lakes and mountains. We have included entrance to Kerry Bog Village, a stop at Waterville overlooking Ballingskelligs Bay and the pretty village of Sneem.
Day 5 A free day for you to explore the town of Killarney, or you could take a lake cruise on board the ‘Lily of Killarney’, or visit Muckross House. (fares not included).
Day 6 Leaving Killarney, we travel to Great Island in Cork Harbour where we visit the pretty town of Cobh and The Queenstown Story, an imaginative exhibition detailing the mass emmigration to America and the final port of the Titanic, which sailed from here 100 years ago. We continue to our overnight hotel in Wexford.
Day 7 A short drive takes us to Rosslare for the ferry to Fishguard. The drive home takes us through South Wales and over the Severn Bridge, making refreshment stops en route.
