NEW TOUR

This new tour is centred near Kenilworth at the superb 4-star Chesford Grange Hotel. This area is blessed with many historic towns and country houses, wonderful gardens and glorious riverside views. We have included visits to Baddesley Clinton, Charlecote Park and the Redwings Horse Sanctuary as well as visiting Broadway, Stratford and Warwick.

ITINERARY

Day 1 We pick you up from your door, and then by coach we travel north and across the pretty roads through the Cotswolds with suitable refreshment stops along the way. We arrive at our hotel near Kenilworth with time to explore before dinner.

Day 2 Today we visit Charlecote Park overlooking the River Avon. Family owned for over 700 years, and with fine Victorian interiors, the estate has connections to Queen Elizabeth I and Shakespeare (who is alleged to have poached the deer). We visit both the house and the extensive gardens. The afternoon is free to explore Stratford.

Day 3 Our day begins with a visit to the charming Redwings Horse Sanctuary at Oxhill, where more than 50 horses, ponies and donkeys have found a home. We then take a scenic drive into the Cotswolds through Morton-in-Marsh and stopping in the picturesque town of Broadway. We continue along the pretty routes back to our hotel.

Day 4 We visit the wonderful 15th Century moated manor house at Baddesley Clinton, where the interior has little changed since 1634. During Elizabethan times the house was a haven for persecuted Catholics and three priest’s holes can be seen. There is also a lovely café. We visit Warwick in the afternoon, or you might like to go back to the hotel to enjoy the facilities.

Day 5 Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we begin our journey home making a stop in Henly on Thames on the way. We reach our taxis in the afternoon for our transfer home.
