Floriade is a World Horticultural Exhibition which takes place every 10 years in the Netherlands. We have a full day to explore this impressive site, where as well as the multitude of garden exhibits there is a full cultural programme of music, dance, literature, theatre and visual art from all over the world.

ITINERARY

Day 1 Morning collection from home to join our coach for the drive to Dover for a short sea crossing to Calais. On arrival in Calais, we continue through France, Belgium and into Holland arriving at our hotel in Waalwijk in time for evening meal.

Day 2 After breakfast we head to Floriade, the international horticultural exhibition in Venlo. (Entrance included) Our journey of around an hour and a half sees us arrive mid-morning to allow you a full five hours to soak up the atmosphere and explore the pavilions and themed show gardens.

Day 3 A full day excursion as we travel into the heart of the Dutch Bulbfields with an included visit to the world famous Keukenhof Gardens, a 70 acre site filled with over 6 million bulbs in both landscaped gardens and glasshouses. We return to our hotel late afternoon.

Day 4 Morning at leisure in Waalijk followed by a lunchtime visit to the nearby town of s-Hertogenbosch. This afternoon we continue to Appeltern Garden Park where we include entrance to a collection of 190 model gardens with ideas and information about garden design, products, plants, playgrounds, garden trends, sculpture, balcony and patio gardens, water and vegetable gardens and oriental gardens. We return to our hotel in time for dinner.

Day 5 We leave our hosts in Waalwijk after breakfast and travel to the Belgian city of Antwerp, one of the biggest and most important diamond centers of the world. After some free time we return to Calais for a late afternoon ferry crossing to Dover. On arrival in England, we return to the local area by late evening where our door-to-door service will be waiting to return you to your home.
