The Cornish Riviera is outstandingly beautiful and remains a Woods favourite. Based in the historic fishing town of Falmouth, with its picturesque narrow streets and harbour, we tour the Lizard and Roseland Peninsulas, the pretty villages of Polperro, Mevagissey and Looe, and visit the wonderful National Seal Sanctuary.
ITINERARY
Day 1 After being picked up from your door, join our coach and we go west with a stop for lunch in Honiton. We continue through Devon and into Cornwall, reaching our hotel late afternoon.
Day 2 A free day to explore Falmouth. Enjoy some shopping, stroll along to Pendennis Castle, Glendurgan Gardens or enjoy the facilities at the hotel.
Day 3 An optional visit to the Eden Project (Entrance approx. £15), or a scenic drive to Mevagissey, Polperro and Looe.
Day 4 A morning in Truro and then a drive around the Roseland Peninsula, one of the most picturesque and unspoilt parts of the British Isles. We pass beautiful cliffs and beaches, delightful rivers and countryside, pretty villages and hamlets and visit St Mawes, where we enjoy an afternoon cruise on the River Fal.
Day 5 A tour of the Lizard Peninsula travelling via Marazion with views of St Michael’s Mount. Our scenic drive takes us through a designated ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ with whitewashed cottages clustering around tiny harbours. We visit the National Seal Sanctuary set on the picturesque Helford Estuary near the village of Gweek.
Day 6 We return home via Okehampton and Dorchester, stopping en route for refreshments.
