We explore some of the most dramatic scenery of South Wales from our base in the pretty country town of Carmarthen. During our stay we visit Mumbles and the rugged coastline of the Gower Peninsula, the wonderful National Botanic Gardens of Wales and spend time in Cardiff.

ITINERARY

Day 1 After a morning pick up from your home, we travel across to Gloucester in time for lunch. We then cross into Wales and travel via Ross-on-Wye, through Monmouthshire and on to our hotel in Carmarthen arriving late afternoon.

Day 2 Our excursion takes us through the beautiful unspoilt scenery of the Gower Peninsula. We visit Mumbles on the outskirts of Swansea and stop at Mumbles Head where there will be free time. We then have a guided coach tour along to Rhossili with views of the nature reserve of Worm’s Head and the dramatic 250ft cliffs.

Day 3 This morning we travel to the National Botanic Garden of Wales, set in parkland and secluded woodland and home to a unique collection of over 10,000 different plants. You can take the lakeside walk, see the award-winning Great Glasshouse, Tropical House, Double Walled Garden, Bee Garden, and see the show in ‘Theatre Botanica’. After lunch we return to our hotel and have free time to explore Carmarthen.

Day 4 Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we travel to Cardiff where we will have time for lunch in this historic city. Crossing the Severn Bridge we make our way to the local area, our taxis and home.
