Four Pillars Tortworth Court
Tortworth Court has been created from a magnificent Grade II Victorian Gothic Mansion in extensive grounds, and the splendour can be seen in the breathtaking foyer, grand dining room and bar and third floor cosy turreted lounge. There is an indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, spa and a croquet lawn. All rooms have TV , telephone, hairdryer, ironing facilities, safe and hospitality tray. There is a lift to most rooms with a few steps in some of the corridors.
ITINERARY
Day 1 After your taxi pick up, we make our way to via Marlborough to Slimbridge for a visit to the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust, home to an astounding array of wildlife including the world’s largest collection of swans, geese and ducks. We arrive at our hotel late afternoon.
Day 2 A free morning in Bristol to see the sights and have lunch. In the afternoon we travel to Bitton to board a steam train on the Avon Valley Railway to Avon Riverside, where we board the ‘River Princess’ for a 40 minute trip along the River Avon. We return by train to Bitton and then by coach to our hotel.
Day 3 A scenic day through the southern Cotswolds travelling via Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Camden. We visit Hidcote Manor Gardens – an ‘Arts and Crafts’ masterpiece, consisting of a series of outdoor rooms, each with a different character and each peaking at different times of the year.
Day 4 A morning visit to Gloucester with free time to visit the 900-year-old Norman Cathedral or enjoy the shopping. This afternoon we visit the Bristol Blue Glass Visitor Centre where we can watch glass being blown, tour the museum and have tea.
Day 5 Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we travel via Tetbury, Cirencester and Bibury before making our way back to the local area with suitable refreshment stops along the way.
