ITINERARY

Day 1 After the usual taxi pick ups, we travel via Alfriston and Beachy Head to Eastbourne to arrive early afternoon. The rest of the day is free.

Day 2 A full day first visiting the picturesque port of Hythe, where we board the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway, for the 13.5 mile journey to the fishermen’s cottages and lighthouses at Dungeness. We return to Eastbourne via Rye.

Day 3 Today we travel to Sissinghurst Castle Gardens, a remarkable garden created in the old ruins as a series of ‘outdoor rooms’. Our afternoon is spent in the pretty town of Tunbridge Wells.

Day 4 A wonderful day with a visit to Great Dixter House and its superb gardens followed by a cream tea aboard a steam hauled train on the Kent and East Sussex Railway.

Day 5 A free day to enjoy the delights of Eastbourne.

Day 6 After a free morning in Eastbourne, we make our way home, arriving late afternoon.
