ITINERARY
Day 1 After pick up by taxi, we make our way to Gloucester via Marlborough and Avebury, making suitable refreshment stops along the way.
Day 2 A morning in Gloucester with a guided tour of the magnificent 900-year-old Norman Cathedral. After free time in town, either return to the hotel to enjoy the leisure facilities or visit the restored Victorian Docks, home to the National Waterways Museum and the Merchant’s Quay Shopping Centre.
Day 3 A full day tour taking in many pretty Cotswold stone villages including Broadway, Stow-on-the-Wold and Burford on the River Windrush.
Day 4 We travel via Malmesbury and Tetbury to Bristol, where we visit SS Great Britain, Brunel’s great ocean liner. The ship was first launched in 1843 and is now a fascinating insight into travel in a bygone age from first class to steerage. We then drive through Bristol for views of the famous suspension bridge before enjoying some free time in town.
Day 5 Leaving our hotel after breakfast, we visit Milestones Living History Museum for a trip down memory lane. Explore the streets with characters in period costume, enjoy a trip to Milestones Café, the Edwardian pub and gift shop. We then continue on our journey home.
