The majestic Thoresby Hall Hotel and Spa is a Grade 1 listed mansion in 30 acres of beautifully landscaped Victorian gardens on the edge of Sherwood Forest. Leisure facilities include swimming pool, sauna, steam room, gym, spa, croquet, putting green, bowls and much more! There is a café, two bars, a library, a gift shop and you can enjoy entertainment every evening and a full programme of activities during the day. NEW TOUR
This wonderful new tour based at the excellent Warner’s adult-only hotel at Thoresby Hall, allows you to see the best of the Peak District National Park, visit Chatsworth House and Newstead Abbey and also have time to enjoy the huge range of activities and entertainment that Warners are so famous for.
ITINERARY
Day 1 After the usual taxi pick ups we travel north with suitable refreshment stops along the way. We reach our Warners hotel near Nottingham with time to relax before dinner.
Day 2 This morning we visit Newstead Abbey, once home to the great Romantic poet, Lord Byron. We enjoy the wonderful gardens and have a private visit to the historic house, medieval cloisters and even the private apartments of Byron. The afternoon is free for you to explore the many activities and facilities at Thoresby Hall.
Day 3 Our day in the Peak District National Park begins with a visit to Chatsworth House, home of the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire. Visit the house with many wonderful works of art, the chapel, the farm and the gardens with miles of walks with rare trees, temples, sculptures, fountains, streams and ponds. We then make our way to the Roman spa town of Buxton.
Day 4 We have a morning in the market town of Newark on the River Trent, which boasts an imposing 12th Century castle, two museums and one of the finest Georgian market squares in Britain. The afternoon is free at the hotel to enjoy the facilities.
Day 5 We make our way south, with a stop to visit the National Memorial Arboretum in Staffordshire. We then continue toward the local area making a suitable refreshment stop along the way.
