NEW TOUR

This new summer tour explores some of the wild and wonderful scenery of South Wales including the Brecon Beacons National Park and the breath-taking Gower Peninsula. We have included some history at the Museum of Welsh Life and the Brecon Mountain Railway, as well as some free time to explore the Welsh capital.

ITINERARY

Day 1 Leaving the local area with our door to door service, we travel via Malmesbury and then continue across the Severn Bridge into Wales, Cardiff and our hotel.

Day 2 This morning we visit the Museum of Welsh Life in the grounds of St Fagan’s Castle, one of the best open air museums in Europe with some stunning gardens. The afternoon is free to explore Cardiff. Visit the fairy-tale castle, the Millennium Stadium or enjoy the lovely street cafés close to our hotel

Day 3 A day out in the Brecon Beacons National Park. First we travel up via Abergavenny and the picturesque village of Crickhowell to Brecon, where there is time for lunch and to explore its narrow streets and passageways lined with Georgian and Jacobean shopfronts. We then travel through more of the dramatic scenery of the national park before taking a ride on the Brecon Mountain Railway, one of the Great Little Trains of Wales.

Day 4 Today we travel along the beautiful Gower Peninsula, first along Swansea Bay stopping at Mumbles Head. At the Gower Visitor Centre, we are joined by a local guide to take us to the heights of Cefn Bryn, the historic ‘Arthur’s Stone’ and to the breath-taking beauty of Rhossili Beach and Worm’s Head. Back at the Heritage Centre we enjoy a cream tea.

Day 5 Leaving Cardiff after breakfast, we cross into England and on to Lacock for lunch. Dating back to the 13th Century with many limewashed, half-timbered and stone houses, the village has been seen on the BBC in ‘Pride and Prejudice’ and ‘Cranford’. We arrive home late afternoon.
