ITINERARY
Day 1 After our taxi pick ups, we make our way into Kent and visit Penshurst Place, where we have time to explore the historic house and gardens. We reach our hotel in Ashford late afternoon, in time for dinner.
Day 2 This morning we travel to Hever Castle, the childhood home of Anne Boleyn. The castle houses historic 16th century Tudor portraits, furniture and tapestries and two magnificent Books of Hours. The gardens boast a number of water features, the Italian Garden, Tudor Garden and Rhododendron Walk. We return to our hotel in time to enjoy the leisure facilities.
Day 3 After breakfast, we drive towards Maidstone and visit Leeds Castle, set on two islands on the River Len, home to royalty, lords and ladies for over 900 years. After lunch we travel to Hole Park Gardens. Here we enjoy tea and a homemade cake, and visit the formal, walled, meadow and woodland gardens where blankets of beautiful bluebells bring bursts of spring colour.
Day 4 Leaving our hotel after breakfast we make our way back to the local area via Rye and Hastings, making suitable refreshment stops along the way.
