Following a visit to this wonderful area hosted by the Belgian Tourist Board, Roger Elsmere, our Managing Director, has personally designed this tour to encompass the best that the Belgian Ardennes have to offer.

ITINERARY

Day 1 After a taxi pick up we make our way along the south coast to Dover for the short sea crossing to France. The journey will continue through Belgium around Brussels into La Roche-en-Ardenne. Suitable stops will be made for refreshments en-route.

Day 2 This morning we are joined by a local guide to explore the local area and the afternoon is free to explore the lovely town. There are many quaint shops and museums, one of which is dedicated to World War II – a must see.

Day 3 We make our way across country to the Annevoie Water Gardens where you will enjoy an escorted tour. We then visit Durbuy where you will have time for lunch and sightseeing in this beautiful small town. It also has a topiary park. We return to our hotel via Hotton and visit the Commonwealth Military Cemetery. The area we are in was at the heart of the World War II Battle of the Bulge.

Day 4 Today our journey takes us to Dinant where we board a river boat to enjoy a cruise down the River Meuse. We disembark and continue to the Castle and Gardens of Freÿr, one of the most scenic castles of the Meuse Valley. Enjoy the Renaissance dining room, Baroque hall, Roccoco chapel and classical gardens, maze and orangery.

Day 5 Leaving La Roche the drive is back through Belgium stopping for lunch and sightseeing in the medieval town of Ghent before travelling to Calais for the late afternoon sailing to Dover and on to the south coast.
