Black Swan Hotel
A Touch of Class
Nestling on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, our four-star character hotel has dominated the market square at Helmsley for centuries, and is a listed building. The 45 en suite rooms are named for the local dales and are equipped with TV, ironing facilities, hairdryer and hospitality tray. The hotel boasts a pretty walled garden and a fine restaurant. The hotel does not have a lift, and a few ground floor rooms are available in the annex.
ITINERARY
Day 1 After meeting all of our taxis, we head north via the beautiful conservation town of Stamford to our hotel in Helmsley, making suitable refreshment stops en route.
Day 2 The morning is free to explore Helmsley. In the afternoon we take a tour through the villages of the Yorkshire Moors taking in Rosedale Abbey, Castleton, Denby for the North Yorkshire Information Centre, and Hutton-le-Hole.
Day 3 We travel to York, where you will have a free morning and lunch will be at leisure whilst in the city. Our coach will then take us to Kings Staith Landing for a one-hour river cruise. There is an on board bar and lounge for those who would like light refreshments.
Day 4 We set off via Pickering and visit Goathland. Leaving here we make our way via the coastal route to Whitby for lunch. The journey continues along the Northern Moors Road past Scaling Dam, onto Great Ayton, Stokesley and through Billsdale and the Cleveland Hills to Helmsley.
Day 5 We depart for the south, making the usual comfort stops en route.
