A day out to two wonderful places this summer. The house at Chawton is where Jane Austen spent the last eight years of her life and where she did the majority of her mature writing. It retains the charm of a village home, telling the story of Jane Austen and her family. In the afternoon we visit The Vyne House & Gardens - a Tudor mansion, packed with treasures, set in 13 acres of beautiful gardens. There is a tea room serving snacks, cakes and light lunches.
