After a short refreshment stop at Guildford Cathedral tea rooms, we reach Windsor around midday. Your visit to the castle is at your leisure during the afternoon (allow at least 2 hours for the visit). Windsor Castle is one of the largest and oldest inhabited castles in the world. A Royal home and fortress for over 900 years, the Castle remains a working palace today. The magnificent State Apartments, which form the heart of the tour are decorated with some of the finest works of art in the Royal Collection and include paintings by Rembrandt, Rubens, Gainsborough and Van Dyck. Visitors can also see Queen Mary's Doll's House and St George's Chapel, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in England.
