We arrive in the pretty and thriving market town of Wells at 1130 hrs. Wells is the smallest city in England and the only in Somerset nestled in the foot of the Mendip Hills. There are a wide variety of shops, restaurants, pubs and the famous Wells Cathedral.

Wells Cathedral described as one of the most beautiful English Cathedrals. The present Cathedral was begun about 1175 on a new site to the north of an old minster church. Bishop Reginald de Bohun brought the idea of a revolutionary architectural style from France and Wells was the first English cathedral to be built entirely in this new Gothic style.

With its views of the stunning West Front of the Cathedral and the Bishop’s Palace, Chapter Two Cafe and Restaurant is located on the first floor of the Entry Cloister and is accessible either by lift or stairs.
