Leonardo da Vinci has long been recognised as one of the great artists of the Renaissance, but he was also a pioneer in the understanding of human anatomy. On Leonardo’s death in 1519 the drawings remained a mass of undigested material among his private papers and their significance was effectively lost to the world for almost 400 years. Today they are among the Royal Collection’s greatest treasures.
The Royal Mews provides road transport for The Queen and members of the Royal Family by both horse-drawn carriage and motor car. It is at the Royal Mews that the State vehicles are housed and maintained. These include the magnificent Gold State Coach used for Coronations and those carriages used for Royal and State occasions, State Visits, Weddings and the State Opening of Parliament.
Included in this excursion is a packed lunch, containing a filled baguette, cereal bar, packet of crisps, yogurt and soft drink.
