After a coffee stop at Hillier garden centre at Thatcham, we reach Cirencester around 11.45hrs. Founded by the Romans, Cirencester became the second largest Roman Town after London. With many fine old buildings, its pride and joy is the parish church of St John the Baptist, the largest in Gloucestershire.
You will have a couple of hours’ free time for your own exploring.
At 1430hrs we arrive at Colesbourne Park where you can see the church, waterfall and walk the lakeside and woodland paths to see huge banks of snowdrops and other winter plants, and rare bulbs in the gardens.
