There can't be many setting more beautiful at Christmas than Medieval Bruges, with its cobbled streets, historic buildings and horses and carts.

The Christmas market on the Market Square forms a ring around an open air ice rink, with a smaller market located on Simon Stevinplein. Colourful lights illuminate festive stalls crammed with Christmas goodies, where shoppers can browse tables laden with elegantly- packaged chocolates, brightly coloured sweets and unusual hand made decorations.

Set near the beautiful Grand Place at the heart of the city, the Brussels Christmas market offers visitors an opportunity to pick up some unusual Christmas gifts. Around 150 exhibitors from all over Europe offer traditional arts and crafts, jewellery, hand made Christmas tree decorations and Belgian chocolates.
