The Bluebell Railway has developed into one of the largest tourist attractions in Sussex, yet it still remains true to its objectives of the preservation for posterity of a country branch line, its steam locomotives, coaches and goods stock, signalling systems, stations and operating practices. Sheffield Park Gardens is a magnificent landscaped garden laid out in the 18 century by 'Capability' Brown and further developed in the early years of the 20th century by its owner, Arthur G Soames. The centrepiece is the original four lakes. There are dramatic shows of daffodils and bluebells in spring, and the rhododendrons, azaleas and stream garden are spectacular in early summer.
